Hi, I’m Sevilla
Are you facing a major life event, whether relocating to the area, ready to leave your partner or find one, thinking of expanding or changing your career, or facing loss of a loved one? Or are you finding yourself in a creative block or spiritual crisis? I will work with you to navigate these major life transitions and big questions, and to manage or even thrive in the place you find yourself.
I had a previous career in the arts, and remain sensitive to the struggles of creatively-minded people. I have lived in multiple countries for significant periods of my life, and the experience of starting life from scratch is baked into my DNA.You will find me open, authentic, and non-judgmental. I invest myself into truly understanding your experience and becoming an informed and trusted collaborator.
I specialize in helping people understand, manage and overcome symptoms related to childhood trauma and Complex Trauma - CPTSD using the highly effective, evidence based Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST) developed by master clinician Janina Fisher, a long-time collaborator of Bessel Van der Kolk. This model focuses less on the actual traumatic events and more of the parts of self holding the symptoms of trauma. This model helps patients integrate long
I also help people regain focus and manage symptoms of distraction and ADHD. In this work, I help people navigate away from compulsive use of social media and towards “deep work”, inspired by Georgetown professor Cal Newport.
I work with people who are stuck in terms of their creativity, whether they are artists or have creative components to their work, with methods to cultivate a more intuitive, expansive part of themselves with Right Brain Cultivation techniques. This work also helps people become more in touch with their emotional parts.
In my work with couples’ and adult parent/child counseling, I use methods from psychodynamic psychotherapy and Object Relations in Couples’ Therapy
I have licenses in several states. I used a mixed hybrid virtual/in person model in Washington DC, Maryland (Bethesda, Silver Spring, Chevy Chase), and Virginia (Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax). I can also see people virtually in Washington State (cities like Seattle, Tacoma and Spokane) and Florida (Cities like Miami, Orlando, Palm Beach).
